Media Strategist

As a Media Strategist, you will execute on strategy and provide corporate intelligence to a diverse range of clients, from startups and advocacy groups to investment funds and C-suite executives. 

You will be expected not only to lead and manage strategic communications campaigns, but cultivate a network of strong relationships with industry influencers and reporters.

We do things differently - and our clients have high expectations. Previous “PR Agency” work isn’t disqualifying, but you will find our approach to be more comprehensive and more engaging - and also more interesting. 

Who You Are:

  • Resourceful strategist who understands the complex landscape of client’s work and (not so obvious) stakeholders

  • Confident and effective in communicating with C-suite and high-level executives

  • Powerful, fast writer who knows how to seize a busy reporter’s attention and has a keen interest in politics, media, tech and business

  • Self-starter interested in gaining exposure to a variety of industries and internal functions

  • Nimble and have the ability to move fast--very fast--and do the work that needs to get done

  • Detail-oriented and an excellent project manage

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Direct day-to-day client relations and lead the production of high-quality deliverables for a variety of high-profile client campaigns

  • Develop and leverage relationships across public, non-profit and private sectors

  • Identify and seize opportunities to support our clients in the news cycle

  • Draft and revise op-eds, press releases, social media posts and other written products

  • Monitor and track media narratives for clients in news outlets and on social media

  • Provide support for business development activities as necessary, including preparing briefing materials for Founding Principal and researching new client targets

  • Think strategically about the shifting media landscape and identify ways of integrating your insights for existing and prospective clients

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience with a strong background in English, politics/government, communications or a related field

  • Bachelor’s degree or more

  • Entrepreneurial attitude that is equal parts determined and humble 

  • Effective communicator who thrives in a team-based environment.
